Torrisi dipinge il paesaggio come arriva il tempo atmosferico, piano e tutto insieme. Gli alberi si raccolgono in masse di verde e oro, un fiume si apre e si perde nel bianco, un filo della luce attraversa un cielo pallido. Niente resta fermo. L'orizzonte si ammorbidisce finché la distanza smette di essere una misura e diventa una sensazione. "Dipingo i luoghi finché perdono le coordinate della realtà e diventano memoria", dice l'artista.
Torrisi lavora oggi esclusivamente a olio su tela. La sfocatura di questi dipinti nasce dalle sue origini nei fermi immagine cinematografici e nella fotografia, un'immagine trattenuta un istante di troppo, così che ogni scena arriva come ricordata o sognata più che vista. In diverse opere l'immagine si allenta verso il margine inferiore e il colore cola, lunghe tracce verticali tirate verso il basso, così che il paesaggio e la materia che lo sostiene si vedono nello stesso istante. La mostra comprende diversi dipinti originali a olio realizzati nel 2026.
Samantha Torrisi vive e lavora sulle pendici dell'Etna, dove nuvole e pioggia attraversano rapidamente la montagna. La sua Sicilia è umida e verde, silenziosa.

Nomad Art Collective presents Samantha Torrisi, The Poetry of Stillness

From September 8 to October 31, 2026, the gallery's first solo exhibition with Samantha Torrisi, on view online  on Artsy and at thenomadartcollective.com.
Torrisi paints landscape the way weather arrives, softly and all at once. Trees gather into masses of green and gold, a river opens and gives out into white, a power line crosses a pale sky. Nothing is fixed. The horizon softens until distance stops being a measure and becomes a feeling. "I paint places until they lose the coordinates of reality and become memory," the artist says.
Torrisi works now exclusively in oil on canvas. The soft focus of these paintings comes from her origins in film stills and photography, an image held a moment too long, so that each scene arrives as though remembered or dreamed rather than seen. In several works the picture loosens near the lower edge and the paint runs, long vertical trails drawn downward, so that the landscape and the material that carries it are visible at the same moment.
The exhibition includes several original oil paintings completed in 2026.
Samantha Torrisi lives and works on the slopes of Mount Etna, where cloud and rain move quickly across the mountain. Her Sicily is humid and green, quiet.
The exhibition is presented online, with original works available to international collectors.
